چکیده

The problem of reconstructing signals and images from degraded ones is considered in this paper. The latter problem is formulated as a linear system whose coefficient matrix models the unknown point spread function and the right hand side represents the observed image. Moreover, the coefficient matrix is very ill-conditioned, requiring an additional regularization term. Different boundary conditions can be proposed. In this paper antireflective boundary conditions are considered. Since both sides of the linear system have uncertainties and the coefficient matrix is highly structured, the Regularized Structured Total Least Squares approach seems to be themore appropriate one to compute an approximation of the true signal/image.With the latter approach the original problem is formulated as an highly nonconvex one, and seldom can the globalminimumbe computed. It is shown that Regularized Structured Total Least Squares problems for antireflective boundary conditions canbedecomposed into single variable subproblemsby adiscrete sine transform. Such subproblems are then transformed into one-dimensional unimodal realvalued minimization problems which can be solved globally. Some numerical examples show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. © 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

PSO-Optimized Blind Image Deconvolution for Improved Detectability in Poor Visual Conditions

Abstract: Image restoration is a critical step in many vision applications. Due to the poor quality of Passive Millimeter Wave (PMMW) images, especially in marine and underwater environment, developing strong algorithms for the restoration of these images is of primary importance. In addition, little information about image degradation process, which is referred to as Point Spread Function (PSF...

Extensions of the Justen-Ramlau blind deconvolution method

Blind deconvolution problems arise in many image restoration applications. Most available blind deconvolution methods are iterative. Recently, Justen and Ramlau proposed a novel non-iterative blind deconvolution method. The method was derived under the assumption of periodic boundary conditions. These boundary conditions may introduce oscillatory artifacts into the computed restoration. We desc...

Fast automatic myopic deconvolution of angiogram sequence

We present a fast unsupervised myopic deconvolution method dedicated to quasi-real time processing of video sequences such as angiograms. Our method is based on a Bayesian approach of which the tuning parameters are automatically set thanks to the marginalized likelihood of the observed image. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach on simulated and empirical images. 1. CONTEXT AND PRE...

Airy pattern approximation of a phased microphone array response to a rotating point source.

Deconvolution of phased microphone array source maps is a commonly applied technique in order to improve the dynamic range and resolution of beamforming. Most deconvolution algorithms require a point spread function (PSF). In this work, it is shown that the conventional definition of the PSF, based on steering vectors, is changed when the source is rotating. The effect of rotation results in an...
